Remember when...

Remember when I used to blog and then I stopped for a year and then decided I was going to do it again?
That was a funny joke, huh?
It's been 10 days why of 2 years since my last post. I have a daughter now. She's adorable. She's almost a full year. Jeremy is 3, almost 4 and starts Pre-K next week. Whoa, right?!
I'm a photographer now. People are actually paying me to take their pictures, it's kind of super, actually!
I took big family photos of my family and Mike's family. What a great looking bunch of people we are, don't you agree?!

Jer had a date.

Jer is just 12 days shy of being two and this week he had an official play-date with his girlfriend Reese. These two have had eyes for each other since the day the met at church over a year ago. Reese is just a month younger than her main squeeze, Jet, and she may have him wrapped around her little finger by next week in nursery.

Just look at the two of them, can you blame them for being so smitten with each other? Their babies will  be beautiful.

Our little family is growing....Up!

Let's pretend it's Friday and call this flash back Friday, or I guess we could call it Slippin' back Saturday? We'll see! Anyway, we got family pictures done with the Simmons clan in July, we also got family pictures taken with just our little family last September when Jer turned 1 (oh yea he's almost 2 now so I will need to do a flash back birthday post...noted.)

Moving on, because we have 3 family pictures roughly 2 years apart I thought it would be fun to post them so we can all see how our little family, err...Jer, is growing up! It really does blow my mind. It's like he's 5 now. But not really. He doesn't know about Santa yet.

Then we have last year when Jer turned one, he wasn't even walking!

And now we have this little monkey that RUNS everywhere and let's be real, he runs the show.

I really married into a great family!

Flash Back Friday

Flash back Friday is going to be fun for me, especially posts like this one about Jer. Seeing how much he has grown over this last year is so exciting, yet also kind of sad at the same time! While serving as the Laurel Adviser in the YW we took the girls on a hike up to Cecret Lake. Jer did awesome, he just hung around on my back!

Wolf Creek and Jackson Fork Inn

The weekend after the 4th of July we ventured up North and a tad East over through Ogden Canyon to Pineview Reservoir. This was our Simmons Family Vacation! Half of us stayed at the Wolf Creek Worldmark condos and half of us stayed at this charming old barn known as the Jackson Fork Inn. Mike and I were part of the Jackson Fork Inn...since we found it! It's older but it has a sweet charm and the people were so warm and welcoming. They even have a sweet dog to greet you, Lady Blue. Wish we snapped a picture of her!

The whole Simmons gang made it up but I only got pictures of our little family. No worries, we did family pictures a week later that I will get around to posting some other day :-)

We enjoyed quality time with our family playing catch, chasing the kiddos, swimming, and rolling down grassy hills and one little flash hail storm! {What's a family vacay without a little storm, eh?}

Our stay was just for the weekend but we had a nice time. Pineview Reservoir is absolutely beautiful and I would love waking up to those views each morning. Some day we'll go back! Jer loves the water and so did we.

Back from Break

Well that was a nice break, don't you think? I went one full year without blogging. Truth be told I can't say I really missed all that much, however I don't want to have regrets and I feel that this is my best way to journal my life. While life is a fairly open book via Facebook, I don't exactly keep a journal full of memories that I can later print off in a book form. I did that for the first 2 years. So while most of my pictures and daily/weekly thoughts might show up on Facebook, I will also start posting and back-posting, spectacular events worth having in a book one day. Like when I get my hair done. Joking. Or maybe not! I'm considering doing a Flash Back Friday type of post to help me do my back pedaling. Feel free to follow us again here and leave comments if you so feel the desire but I'm mostly doing this for journal purposes, in case I didn't make that point! :@)

So hold on tight all your blog stalkers....the Simmons are back...

Rubber Ducky

...you bath time lots of fun! I still can't figure out how to stop him from growing up but I have to admit I am LOVING this stage! Jeremy is crawling all over the place, pulling himself up to his knees and sometimes to his feet!!! This little 9 month old isn't staying little very well...but I love him just the same!

STOP GROWING!

I need your help....how do I stop this little guy from growing up?!

Happy Birthday Mikey

So I'm a little late on posting for Mikey's birthday! It was a pretty chill birthday (March 20th) for him but I think he enjoyed it nonetheless :) We got his Adam tablet and that's all he wanted! I topped it off with lunch at the Asian Buffet and a chess game from Jeremy...oh and LOADS of chocolate cupcakes! Happy 28th to my young love!

So hungry!

Just so you know...

...we did celebrate Christmas and New Years and today we're celebrating Valentine's! Our little Jer-bug is growing fast. He's 5 months now. CrAZy right?! He's rolling over, and rolls back on occasion. He's eating his veggies, peas, green beans and carrots. We'll introduce fruits in a few weeks more than likely. We're a month behind on his Wellness visits so tomorrow we have his "4" month visit, though really he's 5 and we'll get back on track and make it to his 6 month on time :) He likes to talk, though we're not sure what language he speaks. Hopefully we can learn it! On week days he's a good little napper, then on Sunday's he decides he doesn't want to be a good napper, but if he's happy about it, we let it slide a little! That's how we roll!
In less than 2 weeks we sign on our new townhome! We have made a couple visits to the ward and LOVE it. The people are so kind and friendly! We look forward to finally establishing ourselves in our own ward and not being temps anymore :)

Growing up!

You would think by the title of this post that it would be about our Jeremy huh!?

Well not this time! (Though I need to play blogger catch up) This time 

Mikey and I are truly becoming BIG kids and buying our own home!

At the end of February, as long as things go as planned, we will be moving into 

a nice townhome in South Jordan. We. Can't. Wait!

I'm so excited in fact that I made a countdown chain. Mock if you will but until I'm

in my own home and can decorate and craft this is what we are using for decor! 

Coo-Coo-Cachoo!

Once a month, I'm on a roll! Ha! Well after our sweet little dude got blessed, I turned 30! WOOOO!
Mike surprised me with a fun dinner at Applesbees with some close friends! It was a fun evening and very thoughtful of Mikey :)

 

Jerbug was supposed to have his 2 month wellness check but I thought I'd take him to Disneyland instead.It was a spontaneous trip with Nana and a few cousins! We had a great time and he did AWESOME!!

 

 

However I can tell you he weighs 13lbs now!! He's growing so fast! He is smiling and squealing so much now I love it! All the little coo's make my day! He's decided he likes licking his hand, not just sucking on it, it's rather comical actually! He loves when I sing Santa Clause is Coming to Town!


He is sleeping so well at night, getting at least 1, if not 2, 4 hour blocks of sleep between his nightly feedings.
And last night he had his first hair cut....err.. head shaving! Eeek! Yup, we shaved his grandpa hair ring off! He sure looks handsome as can be, just a bald handsome!

My body has been healing nicely from the c-section. I'm still slowly working out but it's going well (though last night I must have slept funny cause my lower back is kinked).


Mikey started a new job last week!!!!!!!!!!!! SO happy about it. I can take him if I need the car. It's literally a 5 minute commute up the street. HUGE blessing for us.

Other than being sick with nasty coughs this past week, we are doing fairly well! We can't really complain. Life is pretty darn good :)
